Hardy A Report v Moors Valley

The Hardy A team played their final game of the season away to Moors Valley. Came required just 3 wins to secure the championship. The weather was warm, little to no wind and the course in very good condition.

Captain Ryan Ford led the team off and played some wonderful golf in securing a 4&3 victory scoring -3 in the process. Hugh Lawes batted second, however after a great tussle, came up just shy and lost on the 17th. New member and Hardy A debutant Alan Harris showed why he has reached two of the club knockout finals this year by playing some great golf and winning 3&2. Mike Ford came up against Moors Valley’s player of the day and put up a great fight but came up just short.

Steve Wells continued his great form this year with a stunning 3&2 win. This ultimately grabbed Came Down the title. However there was the little matter of the day’s game to complete. Stuart Chainey grinded hard and halved his final hole to win 1up. Tony Howe had a fantastic ding-dong with the Moors Valley captain but was defeated on the 17th. Ben Tyrrell came from 4 down on the back 9 to have an opportunity to secure a point on the last, but unfortunately bogeyed the last and lost 1 down. The match result finished 4-4.

Came Down end the season unbeaten in the league away from home this season and comfortably win the league. A total of 17 players have played for the Hardy A this season, showing that the club have quality, competitive players in depth.

Captain Ryan Ford would like to thank all that have played this season and will look forward to the same result next season.
