Local Rules

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS - Rule 18.2
    Over all boundary walls, hedges or beyond white posts.

  2. ALTERNATIVE TO STROKE AND DISTANCE FOR LOST
    BALL OR BALL OUT OF BOUNDS
    - Rule 18.2
    When a player’s ball has not been found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed as follows rather than proceeding under stroke and distance.
    For two penalty strokes, the player may take relief by dropping the original ball or another ball in this relief area (see Rule 14.3).

    LOCAL RULE ONLY APPLIES IN NON-QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS.

    LOCAL RULE DOES NOT APPLY TO PERPETUAL CLUB TROPHIES OR CLUB KNOCKOUTS.

  3. GROUND UNDER REPAIR - PLAY PROHIBITED
    a)
    Any area encircled by a white line.
    If a player’s ball lies in an area so designated or if such an area interferes with a player’s stance or swing, then relief under Rule 16.1 MUST be taken or use the nearest drop zone (if provided).
    b) Any other temporary condition specified on the notice-board.

  4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
    a)
    All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief without penalty is available under Rule 16.1b.
    In addition, if a ball lies in the general area and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief without penalty as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of complete relief to where the ball lay that a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids intervention and c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green.

    b) Paths - all paths, man-made and their shuttering (including course maintenance vehicle tracks).

    c) Artificial hole plugs on greens.

    d) 150-yard marker posts.

  5. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 15.2)
    All directional marker posts.

  6. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES
    Young trees identified by stakes, sleeves or supports. If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16.1f. The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES 3, 4(a) & 6:
Match Play - Loss of Hole; Stroke Play - Two Strokes.
